WHY EBB & FLOW?
I’m Lucienne Miller, founder of Ebb & Flow. I’m passionate about using business to change the way people manage their holistic wellbeing. I came face to face with anxiety disorders in my teens, when my OCD first became apparent. It crippled me for over a decade and impacted my ability to do my work. I had to hide my wellbeing struggles from an unsupportive workplace, which led to a huge increase in absenteeism and presenteeism.
Not only was it costing me in terms of my health, and impacting on my family and community, it was also negatively impacting the business bottom line. Then in my early 30’s I came across resilience and positive psychology – and everything changed. From this turning point, I was able to regain control. I’m now a mum of four, a wife, a business owner and an eternal student. A better way to do business. It was soon apparent that I wasn’t alone in my under-performance; others were also in the same trap. The downstream cost of hidden workplace wellbeing was easily seen, as the fallout reduced the productivity of colleagues who had to pick up the slack, support struggling team members, and occasionally became so stressed with the added pressure that they also entered a downward spiral. Seeing this, I decided to create positive change: a way of doing business that supports the person, whilst also supporting the business needs.
I combined a decade of experience working in business education and development and my background in positive coaching, positive organisational psychology, neuroscience and resilience with trauma and neurodivergent informed training to create Ebb & Flow Global. There is a better way to do business! One that supports staff holistically, so that we see an increase in productivity that can be felt both inside and outside the workplace. After all, what’s good for people is good for business.
